Move To The Music With Baby Steps

Baby Steps, a division of HPS, Helping People Succeed, Inc., provides a variety of programs aimed at enhancing parent-child interaction and promoting the healthy growth and development of children under five. One of these programs, Music and Movement, is offered to the community in a fun and supportive setting. These classes are offered by developmental specialist who teach developmentally appropriate activities to parents which can be used in their daily routine with their children.

Baby Steps offers three different interactive classes for parents and children in St. Lucie and Martin Counties. Oh Baby of Mine Classes, for infants 3-5 months old and their parent(s), is a special class designed using the latest in infant brain research. Activities included instruction in the art of infant message, developmental monitoring, folk dance, lullabies, floor activities and more. Crawl, Cruise, and Climb Classes, for babies 6-11 months old and their parent(s), is a class that includes chair games, nursery rhymes, developmental monitoring, music and movement, sensory/motor learning, and parenting tips. Music and Movement Classes, for children 12-36 months old and their parent(s), promotes language development, motor skill coordination, creative thinking, physical fitness, and steady beat (a skill linked to higher IQ scores in elementary age.)

Studies show that a child's early experiences profoundly affect the rest of his or her life. Brain development research indicates that the first years last forever. During these earliest stages, Baby Steps offers a variety of supports to ensure that the experiences are positive and promote development progress.
