If you have read “About H.T. PROF” you understand we have a history of working with Israeli companies. What you might not be aware of is that Israel has extensive activity in the “Clean Tech” area.
Over the past 3 years over $250 million in venture capital has been raise, to focus on “Clean Tech”. One of the most recent was Israel Clean Tech, who raised $75million.
WATER
For many years, Israel has been the global leader in delivering water solutions. Many of these were infrastructure and irrigation in nature. The Israelis have also been on the cutting edge of desalination. Today, one of the hottest areas in the water industry is water filtration.
For this reason, the water industry will be one of our primary focuses. We’ve recently placed the U.S. President with Bermad and are currently working with one of the leading filtration company. We are also doing a search for a desalination company.
SOLAR
Israel also has extensive experience in developing Solar technologies. The two main areas of research and development for Solar technology are Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal.
We’ve already start to recruit for Israeli Solar companies dealing with increasing Silicon efficiencies in both the PV and Solar Thermal areas. We also have a customer that is close to developing a 3rd generation solar break through.
ALTERNATIVE ENERGY
Alternative Engery can include Wind, Hydro or Biomass solutions. It also includes everything from Electric Vehicles to BioFuels.
OTHER
There are other areas of “Clean Tech” that includes efficiencies of energy. There are many entrepreneurs in Israel that are focused on areas as diverse as Lighting to Motors. We think these areas and some of these companies will be huge. We also believe the area of Agriculture will provide some interesting opportunities, as they relate to “Clean Tech”
ARE WE ONLY GOING TO FOCUS ON ISRAELI COMPANIES?
The answer to this is NO. The current focus on the areas of Water, Solar and these other areas in the U.S. is extensive. We will grow our customer base with both Israeli and U.S. companies.
We would anticipate that by the end of 2010, our efforts will be 70% U.S. 20% Israeli and 10% for companies from around the World.
A WORD ABOUT SKILL SETS WE WILL BE FOCUSED ON
Our forte has been recruiting Sale, Marketing and Support type positions.
Since the degree of small to medium size companies in the “Clean Tech” area are still in a development phase, we will put a large focus on Product Management, also.
The second area where we will increase our focus will be the skill sets that deal with implementation. These will mainly be Engineers but also focused on Project Manager.
